Finding the right fish for you
Many people can find visiting a fishmonger a bit daunting. With so many species to choose from, and many which aren’t caught locally on offer too, it is tempting to fall back on the nation’s favourites, salmon, cod and haddock.
With quotas of cod and haddock quite small in the south east, there are many other locally-caught species you can try instead with a clear conscience and which are surprisingly affordable. Our quick reference guide below will tempt you to try something different next time you shop.
